    PROGRAM DISCRIPTION:

    Summer program mission: Is to elevate each dancer to their fullest potential physically, mentally and technically. Every dancer goes through stages and has a place to start and a goal to reach. We are dedicated to the development and growth of every dancer that enters this program and will help them to reach their personal goals. Students will leave with increased confidence, self-esteem, knowledge of dance and the Arts as well as improved technique.

    Program Description: This is a 6-week summer program designed and geared toward male and female students ages 5-14 who show great interest in dance and the Performing Arts, with two programs (beginner & advance). The summer program provides students with professional training by instructors who have over 25 years of experience in the arts who are local & international artist. The program offers classes in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Hip-Hop, West African, Afro-Caribbean, Liturgical, Flamingo & Step. Campers will perform all around the city and participate in Master Classes and workshops taught by professional dancers while visiting some of Boston’s prestigious dance centers. Each week we will have invited guest speakers come in to talk about the importance of education, respect, social skills, family & nutrition.

    Students will focus on the following:

    • Proper body placement and dance technique
    • The fundamentals of dance and performance
    • Dance history/music theory
    • Helpful audition techniques toward landing professional work as dancers/performers.
    • Artist Development to enhance each students full potential as a dancer/performer for stage
    • Each student will be given helpful information on nutrition, proper workout & conditioning techniques and overall healthy living lifestyles.

    Empowerment/education:

    • It is requirement that all campers read for 30min each morning & work on summer packets for 30 minutes before any daily activities.
    • Each week campers will participate in empowerment workshops with the P.U.S.H Campaign (Push Until Something Happens)

    Program hours: 

    Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm (extended hours available)

    Extended hours:

    8:00am-9:00am before program service (additional $10.00 per hour per family)

    4:00pm-6:00pm after program service (additional $10 per hour per family)

     

    Weekly additional activities:

    • Weekly swim (3x/week) at Mojitos Country Club (includes free popcorn & slushes)
    • Outdoor activities
    • Final camp performance for family & friends: Friday, August 18th 2017 6:30pm

    Community Service & Outreach: Campers will go out to local community organizations that service under served children or children with disabilities and offer free performances and classes.

    Finale production: Campers will produce an original production set to original choreography as the finale performance at the end of the program. Campers will learn costuming, stage management, hair, make-up, set design, technical design & lighting.

    Field trips & Performances: Campers will be performing all around the city and will also be attending weekly field trips that will allow students to relax and have some fun while enjoying some of the great activities around the city!

     

    Admission process:

    • Submit a completed summer dance program application along with your payment for the first half of camp ($350) or for the whole duration of camp ($700). (We also take Vouchers)
    • Enrollments limited to a maximum of 50 students total to ensure that each student will receive proper individual attention.

    Program fees:

    • Registration: $40.00 per applicant due upon submitting application
    • Tuition: is $660.00 (2 payment options)
    • Option one: Pay in full (receive a 10% discount)
    • Option two: Pay $330 by June 30th and $330 no later than July 31st
    • Voucher Program: Must give us a call directly for more information

    Payment policies:

    • We accept Money orders & Credit/Debit cards ONLY for payments, NO CHECKS OR CASH
    • All payments are NON REFUNDABLE
    • We DO NOT offer Credits or Transfers for payments on accounts
    • If your payment is not made by the due date we cannot guarantee a slot for your child. If payment is made late and we are able to secure a slot for your child there will be a $25 late fee included.

    Lunch: All campers must bring their own lunch

    Transportation: We do not provide transportation as a part of your package BUT we do have a transportation company available that we partner with if needed.

    • Weekly transportation fee $50.00 or $10.00 per day. You must reserve your spot in advance. The meeting location is at 15 Talbot Ave (Boys & Girls Club) in the front of the building. 

    Dance attire girls:

    Black Stajez tank leotard, Royal blue Stajez leotard & Black stajez biker shorts

    Black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes

    Dance attire boys:

    Black Stajez tank or T-shirt & Black basketball shorts

    Black tap shoes, black jazz shoes

    Attire for daily activities: swim suit, towel, water slippers, swim cap, sneakers. Campers must wear sneakers daily. Females cannot wear skirts or dresses or flip flops.

     

    ALL PARTICIPATING CAMPERS WILL RECEIVE A STAJEZ DANCE CAMP T-SHIRT
